Ship burried in Puerto Madero for over 300 years, Mystery?

Constructions workers found on December 2008 the rests of an old ship in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires.
The specialists believe the ship was buried for around 300 years and for Buenos Aires was truly an amazing discover.

How and why did it sink? Was a pirate or legal merchants ship? What was the origin of the ship? This and many other questions will be answered for the specialists in the special documentary NAT GEO did about the discover.

How to get there?

Parque de los Niños (North area):
In Nuñez where it ends Avenida General Paz and the river. Take the bus 28 or by car on Avenida Cantilo.

Parque Roca (South Area):
Escalada st. and 27 de Febrero st.
Take the bus 91 and 115.

No alcohol, no pets. Kids need to be with adults.

The 31st edition of the Dakar took place in Buenos Aires: The first one in Latin-America now is over and has seen the victories of Marc Coma in the bike category, Josef Machacek in the quad category, Giniel De Villiers in the car category and Firdaus Kabirov in the truck category.
In total, 113 bikers, 13 quad riders, 91 car teams and 54 truck teams finished the rally-raid, that was notably marked by the exceptional enthusiasm the Dakar generated amongst the crowds in Argentina and in Chile.

We have a Statue of Liberty in Buenos Aires. Do you know where? Well, actually she is a bit smaller in scale with a touch of color, designed by the French Frédéric Bartholdi, the one who did the original. Located in one of the parks in Barrancas de Belgrano.

Next to the statue, there is a nice "Glorieta" where people dance tango in the evening. Belgrano has a lot of attractions, shops, museums, cafés, restaurants, and flea market during the weekends. Just around the corner of our Chinatown.

Torre de los Ingleses or Torre Monumental is a tower located in Retiro. It was built by British residents of the city to commemorate the centenary of the May Revolution of 1810. After the Falklands war the tower was renamed Torre Monumental, but the citizens of the city still call it Torre Ingles.

The tower is built in Palladian style; the building is decorated with symbols of the British Empire and features the thistle of Scotland, the English rose, the Welsh dragon and the Irish shamrock. In 2006 the building was closed to the public for technical maintenance.

Malba Museum, Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires combines one of the best Latin American collection and an impeccable building.

The original idea is from an Argentine business man, Eduardo Constantini who also established his Foundation Eduardo F. Costantini in 1995 to run cultural, educational and development projects. It is a private, non-profit organization and its main objective is to stimulate public interest in Latin American artists.

If you like art, you should include a visit to this museum. From Thursday to Monday from 12 to 8 PM. Tuesday is closed but Wednesday is free entrance.

Das Malba Museum (Museo de Arte Latinamericano de Buenos Aires) beherbergt eine der besten Kunstsammlungen der südlichen Hemisphäre. In ständig wechselnden Ausstellungen verliert sich der Besucher nicht nur im kulturellen Glanz eines modernen Kontinents, auch der spektakuläre Bau trägt sein Übriges dazu bei, dass man gerne und immer öfters einen Blick ins Innere riskiert.

Die Idee hierzu hatte der ehemalige, argentinische Geschäftsmann Eduardo Constantini mit seiner 1995 gegründeten, gleichnamigen Stiftung. Die private, gemeinnützige Organisation hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, das Publikumsinteresse gegenüber der Lateinamerikanischen Kunstszene zu stimulieren.

Wenn Sie ein Faible für Kunst hegen, sollten Sie unbedingt dem Museum einen Besuch abstatten. Die Öffnungszeiten sind donnerstags bis montags jeweils von 12 Uhr bis 20 Uhr. Dienstags ist das Museum geschlossen. Mittwochs ist der Einritt frei.

Of course meat plays still an important role (“parillas”), but you will find many options from Italian to Japanese, French, German, Spanish and many more - modern and sophisticated restaurants for “porteños” and foreigners.

Palermo is the spot and BA cuisine is taking place there. Be always sure to have a Malbec depends on your meal or choose from the prestigious Argentinean wine list.

Going out after 10 PM you might need a reservation, so check first if you don't want to wait.

Doch vom trendigen Italiener, zum chicen Sushi, vom rustikalen Deutschen bis hin zum gehobenen Franzosen findet sich mehr als 3.500 unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten den Leckerbissen eines guten Mahls auf dem Gaumen zergehen zu lassen.

Palermo ist das Ausgehviertel der Stadt und die Vielfalt der Küche Buenos Aires ist hier zu finden. Ein guter Malbec sollte stets als „Begleiter“ gewählt werden, doch kann es auch ein leichteres Tröpfchen aus der Vielzahl der argentinischen Spitzenweine sein.

Sollten Sie allerdings nach 22 Uhr ohne eine Reservierung in einem der unzähligen Restaurants erscheinen, kann es schon passieren, dass man lange auf einen Tisch warten muss. Drum reserviere, wer nicht warten will.

The subte línea A (subway "A" line) is one of the oldest in the city and still running almost in the original shape. Take this subway to Castro Barros Station and visit one of the most wonderful cafés in town: “Las Violetas” at Avenida Rivadavia 3899, where many tango singers and writers used to meet. Recently completely renovated you still can feel the amazing atmosphere of the “good old times”. Great pastry!
